UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017 | Students Protest & Move To Supreme Court

Distressed students in a fit of agitation now demand justice from the apex court by dragging UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017 questions and their multiple correct answers to the court. More than 4.5 lac candidates had taken the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017 this year out of which 56 students have faced difficulties when they saw that around 4 questions in the preliminary IAS exam carried multiple correct options while the Commission shall only consider one option to be correct.

UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017 | Reasons Cited For Challenging Questions In SC

There are many reasons for which the students felt the need to move to the Supreme Court in order to have a just and fair evaluation system adopted by the UPSC in the Civil Services Exam 2017. It is because of the ambiguous nature of the questions and non-transparent evaluation system of Union Public Service Commission which only releases marks of candidates and the official answer keys of any recruitment exam it conducts after the final result declaration of the UPSC exam.

If the same set procedure is followed for the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017, it would be real late for students who feel that questions with more than correct answer shall have which choice option marked by UPSC as the right answer. Furthermore, who would be answerable and what justifiable argument shall lie in the favour of those candidates who referred books stating the other option as the correct answer to the challenged question in the Supreme Court ( SC) in the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017. The loss shall be of that of students’ only as if the candidate does not attempt the question he loses 2 marks, while if he attempts and marks the ‘supposed’ wrong answer which the answer key as released by UPSC at a later stage does not comply with shall lose 2.67 marks, which is hazardous !

Let us see, what SC does in order to provide justice to the distressed aspirants of UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Prelims Exam 2017 this year. Fingers crossed!
