UPSC exams (Union Public Service Commission) 2019 are undergoing drastic changes as Commission now allows candidates to withdraw their applications online. In one of the first ever initiatives taken up by the recruiting authority, UPSC has launched the application withdrawal facility from 2019.

Also, that means, candidates aspiring to take UPSC 2019 exams can avail the same. The online application cum registration process for various such exams include UPSC ESE 2019 scheduled in January. Know details about the recently introduced application withdrawal facility for Union Public Service Commission 2019 exams and how to avail it here.

Why UPSC Introduces Application Withdrawal Facility from 2019

Union Public Service Commission conducts various recruitment exams throughout the year for various posts. UPSC from 2019 onwards has decided to introduce application withdrawal facility for the candidates who had applied for the test online. Moreover, this facility ensures candidates who are not prepared well for the years’ test to save their candidature from being considered for that session. Further, candidates can simply ask for application withdrawal which shall cancel his candidature from that UPSC exam.

As per the current trends, only half of the applicants turn up to appear for the UPSC exams. This wastes a lot of resources arranged by the Union Public Service Commission in conducting the test. Furthermore, the Commission feels that the initiative would benefit the candidates and authorities mutually. The current amount of wastage of energy and resources in booking venues, hiring invigilators, printing etc. would be saved.

UPSC 2019 | Candidates Can Avail Application Withdrawal Facility Online

Candidates who wish to withdraw their UPSC online applications can submit their form details. Candidates shall then receive an OTP on their registered mobile numbers as well as e-mail IDs. Post withdrawal, candidates will receive a confirmation message from the authorities via e-mail and SMS.

Also, there is no such provision for refund of online application fee for UPSC 2019 exams as of now. Moreover, candidates can not revive the application once it is withdrawn from the system. Union Public Service Commission plans to bring this facility with effect from UPSC ESE 2019 whose online registration process is on.

UPSC ESE 2019 application withdrawal facility shall be active one week after its due date to apply online. Also, the last date to apply for the Engineering Services Exam is October 22, 2018. Candidates can withdraw their applications from October 29, 2018 if they wish to.
