Waiting Period Of The Maruti Suzuki Swift Could Go Down Substantially

Shifting the production of the Baleno to Haryana facility could greatly affect the waiting period of the Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Swift has been launched at the Auto Expo last week and remained one of the hottest cars of the show as well. It was reported that more than 40,000 Indian customers had booked the new 2018 Facelift and the company has already begun making the deliveries of the car. However, buying an all new Swift came with a drawback of a long waiting period of up to 8 weeks and Maruti Suzuki seems to have found a solution to that. According to reports the company has shifted the production of the popular premium hatchback Baleno to Manesar in Haryana in order to make more room for the Swift at Hansalpur in Gujrat. This could substantially result in bringing down the waiting period of the all new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Facelift.

Maruti Suzuki To Build The New Swift in its Gujrat Facility

Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujrat has the annual capacity of approximately 2.5 Lakhs cars and producing the hugely popular Swift here makes total sense for the car maker. Since the Swift hatchback is expected to be more in demand than the Baleno, the production of the latter has been shifted to the Manesar plant in Haryana. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is estimated to sell more than 15,000 units per month courtesy its class leading features and sharp pricing.

The Maruti Baleno is not an unpopular car by any means either and has a backlog of 30,000 units already. However, the lower price of the Swift and sharp looking design features appeal to a wider range of customers in the Indian market than the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The Baleno has a mature design and better space on the inside which makes it a strong rival to the hugely popular Hyundai i20 premium hatchback. The Maruti Suzuki Swift on the other hand is a peppy hatchback which has been a favourite among the driving enthusiasts.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Price India

Maruti Suzuki is known for pricing its cars competitively and the Swift is no exception either. However, the car is a little expensive when compared to its closest rival – the Hyundai Grand i10 but in all honesty packs in way more features in the standard package. Maruti Suzuki Swift price India starts at 4.99 Lakhs for the base Lxi petrol variant and goes all the way up to 8.29 Lakhs for the diesel top end. The Baleno in comparsion starts a little over 5.36 Lakhs and goes all the way up to 8.67 Lakhs in India.
