Chandigarh’s infamous stalking case had taken the entire media by storm last week when the victim Varnika Kundu had filed a legal complaint against Vikas Barala accusing him of stalking her in the midnight on the roads. With the arrest of the accused, the message was clearly conveyed to all across India that there isn’t any way out if you commit a heinous crime. But within a week of the latter case, another woman in Chandigarh has come up with a complaint of being stalked by men in Chandigarh.
Another Chandigarh woman stalked on the road
As per the victim’s complaint, the girl while returning home on her two wheeler from the market was stalked by three men in a car. The stalkers started chasing the girl after she had bought the fruit from the market of Sector 36 till Sector 40.
The woman has filed a complaint with the police and the case under section 354D (stalking), 341 (wrongful restraint) and section 34 (acts done by many people with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered. The police have assured the victim that a thorough investigation has been initiated in this case and they will soon catch hold of the accused.
Though the accused are unidentified, the police are probing into the matter of stalking in Chandigarh with the help of the description of the accused and the car used during the crime as shared by the victim. The woman who was stalked by three men in Chandigarh hails from Hisar and is staying as a paying guest in Chandigarh since long. She had carefully noted down the number of the car that was stalking her at the night of the incident, which she has shared with the police.
