Woman Kills Daughter in Panchkula After Celebrating Her 1st Birthday & Then Herself Commits Suicide

A day before the International Women’s day, a 23-year old woman allegedly strangled her 1-year-old & also ended her life in Panchkula (Buddanpur village). A woman named as Pooja has allegedly killed her 1-year-old daughter Ananya & later committed suicide in a heartwarming incident at her residence. The crime took place when the 2 were alone at their home in Panchkula.

Whereas the alarm was raised by her husband Shravan when he returned back home & saw her wife hanging with the ceiling fan. Police have taken the bodies into their custody & Postmortem will be conducted on Thursday. Police speculated that the mother has first strangled her daughter’s neck & then committed suicide.

23 Year Old Mother Killed her Daughter & herself too in Panchkula

Pooja (23-year-old), who was a maid got married to Sravan (plumber) 3 years ago & was staying at Panchkula (Buddanpur Village) in a rented accommodation. The couple celebrated the first birthday of their daughter Ananya on 1st March 2018 with relatives & neighbours. The incident took place on 7 March, when Sravan went outside for some work in the morning. And when he returned around 10.30 Am, he came across the door to be locked from inside. Then he broke the door & was shocked by the scenario of the room when he found her wife hanging with the ceiling fan & her little one covered in a quilt on the bed.

He immediately called the other family members, who were staying on the ground floor & removed the dupatta from Pooja’s neck but by the time she was no more. Then the call was made to the Police, who rushed to the spot at Panchkula with the forensic team.

Although the actual reason of the incident has not come out yet, but as per neighbours Pooja was upset by her husband. As every day Sravan used to come home by consuming alcohol & after that sometimes he uses to beat her as well. But the mother of the victim stated that they both never ever quarrel. Even the relatives of the victim claimed the same but no confirmation has been made by the Police yet as no suicide note was found from the spot.

Now the actual scenario of the crime will only be opened after the Postmortem report of both the bodies. As of now, the Police have filed the FIR under the CrPC section 174 of suicide in Panchkula.
