Chandigarh Woman Commits Suicide After an Argument With Husband Over Son’s 1st Birthday

In yet another suicide case from Chandigarh region, a 33 year old woman hanged herself to death at her residence in Sector 78 of Mohali. So many suicide cases have been registered in the region in the first 3 months of 2017 and it seems that something is not right.

Nitika, a 33-year-old married woman committed suicide on Tuesday night in Sector 78 Mohlai. She committed suicide and left all her relatives, family and most importantly her 11-month-old son in a devastating situation.

Shopping Becomes A Reason For Suicide

Nitika lived in a rented accommodation with her husband Baljinder Kumar, who is employed in IT Park. Nitika had a fight with her husband over shopping a night before she committed suicide. They fought over their son’s first birthday celebrations.

Her son’s first birthday is on April 25 and the couple was planning to celebrate it. The argument over the list of invitees and shopping turned into a fight and further into a suicide. This seems to be strange but this is what sources mentioned and we guess, is the truth.

How it happened

The couple had an argument and thus slept in different rooms. It was in the morning when Baljinder woke up and saw that the rom where his wife slept was locked from inside. From the windiw, he saw her hanging from the hook of a loft above the door.

Baljinder informed the police that very moment and police officials entered the room through the window as the door was locked from inside.

Baljinder said that Nitika used her dupatta to hang herself.

Nitika’s body has been kept in the mortuary of Phase 6 civil hospital. The police are waiting for Nitika’s family for any further action.

Suicide Not An Alternative

Nitika and her husband had a fight a night before she committed suicide. Committing suicide is not at all an option one should consider. Fights and arguments are a part of every relationship and everyone should sort things and should not take such a step. Nitika’s family including her husband is in a shock.
