Chandigarh | Man Booked for Molesting Women in a Hotel Room in Sector 22

Chandigarh’s crime rate is increasing day-by-day and the city is in news for all wrong reasons. An unusual incident took place in one of Chandigarh’s reputed hotel located in sector 22, where an electrician has been booked for allegedly molesting women in her hotel room.

How did the incident took place

The victim who hails from Bengaluru had checked in a room at Hotel Piccadilly in Sector 22, Chandigarh. When the power of her room went off she complained it to the hotel authorities.

The hotel authorities then sent an electrician, to the victim’s room where he found it to be the technical fault. After fixing it, the electrician left the room and then again called her few hours later to recheck whether everything is fine. The victim then confirmed him that there isn’t any problem but he still came to her room on the pretext of rechecking it. It was then he allegedly tried to molest the lady.

He entered the hotel room forcefully and it was then that he allegedly tried to molest the lady.

Legal procedure against the accused

On the complaint of the victim, the accused has been arrested and the report against him is registered at the police station of Sector 17. The accused has been identified as Rajinder Singh, from Dhanas and has been remanded in judicial custody on the direction of the local court.

A similar incident of Chandigarh

Another shameful incident that took place in Sector 56 Chandigarh has similar story to it. A resident of sector 56 has been booked for allegedly molesting woman of the same locality.

As per the police, the victim had complaint against the accused for allegedly assaulting her and beating up her husband in their own house. The case has been registered against the accused Deepak Mehra at the police station of sector 39 while he is yet to arrested.

Let’s hope that the criminal doesn’t go unpunished and the victims get the justice soon.
