The most anticipated Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone is now all set to foray into the Indian mobile phone market this Valentine’s Day. Yes, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has made it public on the twitter handle of Redmi India, mentioning that Redmi 5 is ready to unleash on February 14, 2018, and the countdown of the same has already begun.

Xiaomi’s Redmi India has already sent the invitation to the media houses and technology experts for the event of its launch, which will take place in Delhi on February 14, 2018. It is not going to be a launch event for Redmi 5 alone but Redmi 5 Plus will also get unveiled at the same time.

The Redmi 5 smartphone by Xiaomi was launched in the December month last year in China along with Redmi 5 Plus and it is now gearing up to launch both of its premium handsets here in India. All the smartphone enthusiasts, as well as the retailers of the mobile phones, are very much excited about the venturing of Redmi 5 into India. Prior to the launch, both the phones are rumored to be priced in the segment of the entry-level phone, which will be a great USP. The Redmi 5 smartphone in China is selling at the starting price of 799 Yuan, which is equivalent to Rs 8,100 in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will have a bezel-less screen, sleek design, sturdy looking body and big battery with long lasting backup. The Chinese version of the Redmi 5 phone is backed by 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 processor along with 506 Adreno GPU. The handset sports a 12-megapixel rear camera for better optics and a 5-megapixel front camera for perfect selfie. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 in China runs on Android Nougat MIUI 9 and features a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the phone set right below the camera. The phone houses a powerful battery of 3300 mAh and has a 5.7-inch screen with full HD display (1440 x 720 pixels resolution).
In China, Redmi 5 has three variants including 2GB RAM coupled with 16GB internal storage, 3GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM teamed with the 32GB internal storage. All the three variants have a microSD card slot through which the internal storage can be expanded.
