Xiaomi Mi 7 is one of the upcoming smartphones in the year 2018 that is expected to feature 3D facial recognition technology. Yes, that’s right; Xiaomi Mi 7 may come up with this unique feature of scanning face rather than a fingerprint sensor. As per the renders of this flagship smartphone, the device will give tough competition to the newly launched iPhone X in terms of sporting a face sensor technology to give 3D results.
The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has not yet announced the features and specifications of the upcoming Mi 7 phone but the rumors are rife that the face ID sensors will replace the earlier speculated fingerprint sensor. The device is said to be the most ambitious one and will offer its users a more secure system to keep them abreast of the latest technology.

Unlike other smartphone players in the market, Xiaomi doesn’t feature a fingerprint scanner on the front below the screen. All of its handsets are decked up with a fingerprint sensor on the back right below the rear camera and flash for optimum function. But it is now speculated that the manufacturers will this time ditch the fingerprint scanner on the back of the Xiaomi Mi 7 handset, replacing it with the face ID recognition system.
The technology of face scanning has attracted a lot of recognition amongst smartphone enthusiasts with the introduction of Apple’s iPhone X. In fact, not only Xiaomi Mi 7, but it is hinted that in the coming year, other players like LG and Huawei are also introducing their new mobile phone handsets in the market with the specification of 3D face recognition. The price of the Xiaomi Mi 7 phone is not known as the company has not made any official announcement.

Also, it is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 7 to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor and large bezel-less display. The dual camera on the rear is another feature that is hinted to be there in this flagship phone of Xiaomi. The company hasn’t declared an official release date of the smartphone in India as of now but it is expected to get unveiled during the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which an annual event scheduled to be held in Barcelona in the month of February 2018.
