Xiaomi has added a new variant to its Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone gets a 4GB RAM variant in its portfolio. The 4GB RAM variant of Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone is launched in China and has been listed on the official Store. The 4GB RAM variant of the phone is the third variant of Redmi 5 smartphone. Earlier the phone has 2GB RAM variant and 3GB RAM variant.
Price of Redmi 5 Smartphone and Launch Date in India
The new variant of Xiaomi Redmi 5 Smartphone with 4GB RAM ahs a price of CNY 1,099 which is approximately equal to Rs.11,000. The new variant is listed on the Xiaomi Chinese Official website. There is only one upgrade in this variant and that is its RAM. There is no date when the phone will launch in India. Xiaomi has started sending out media invites for a launch event of the new smartphone in India. The event will be held on Feb 14 and it is expected that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 5 smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 5 was launched last year along with Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.
Specifications of Xiaomi Redmi 5
The specifications of the phone are totally same. The new variant of Redmi 5 has 4GB RAM and this is the only difference. Redmi 5 is a dual sim phone that supports nano sim. The phone has a display of 5.7 inches and the display is HD+ display. The resolution of the screen of the phone is 720×1440 pixels. The aspect ratio of the display is 18:9.
Redmi 5 smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. It runs on Android Nougat Operating system along with MIUI 9 custom skin. The phone has 2GB/3GB and 4GB RAM and the internal storage of the phone is 16GB and 32GB. The 2GB RAM variant of the phone has 16GB storage and 3GB/4GB RAM variant has 32GB storage.
Coming to the camera specification of the phone, Redmi 5 has a 12-megapixel camera at back with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. For selfies and video calling, there is a 5-megapixel camera and it comes with Beautify 3.0 features for better portraits. Below the back camera, there is a fingerprint sensor. The phone has a battery of 3000mAh and connectivity option of the phone include Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and micro-USB.
