On May 10, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Redmi S2 smartphone in China. The phone is the first phone of Xiaomi in the Redmi S series. And now according to the new teaser, teased by Xiaomi, it is expected that the Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi S2 smartphone in India. Although it is not clear whether the phone is Redmi S2 or not.
The teaser doesn’t reveal about the handset details but the headline “Best Redmi Selfie Smartphone” clears it all that it will be the Redmi S2 smartphone. Before the launch of Redmi S2 in China, the phone was also teased with the similar headline.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 India Launch Date
According to the teaser, the phone Redmi S2 will be launched in India on June 7th. The teaser is posted by the Redmi India Official Twitter Account. The tweet comes with hashtag #RealYou and #FindYourSelfie and the Y alphabet gets a highlight. So it is also expected that the Redmi S2 will be launched in India as XIaomi Redmi Y2, the successor of the Redmi Y1 smartphone which was launched in India last year.
Redmi Y1 is also a selfie-centric phone and comes with a 16MP front camera with LED flash. The next thing that makes it clear that it will be Redmi Y2 is the dedicated microSD card slot. Redmi S2 comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. Redmi Y1 also comes with a dedicated microSD slot.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 Price in India (Expected)
In China, the Redmi S2 was launched in two variants. the first one comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and the price for this variant is set at CNY 999 (roughly Rs.10,600) and the second one comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the price is set at CNY 1,299 (roughly equal to Rs.13,700). It is expected that the Price of Redmi S2 in India will remain same. The actual price will be revealed at the launch date.

Heading towards the specifications of Xiaomi Redmi S2 smartphone, the phone has a display of 5.99-inches with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The phone runs on Android Oreo Operating system and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC. The phone comes with 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 32GB and 64GB. The best thing is the dedicated microSD card slot. With this users can use 2 sim cards and MicroSD card at the same time.
Moving to the camera specifications of Redmi S2 smartphone, the phone has a dual camera at the back with one 12MP sensor and second 5MP sensor. For selfies and video calling, there is a 16MP camera on the front. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor at the back and also comes with face unlock feature. The phone gets its power from 3080mAh battery.
