The Chinese Smartphone Maker Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 smartphone in India next week. The selfie-centric smartphone will launch in Indian Smartphone market on June 7. As of now, there is no official confirmation that the phone will be Redmi Y2 or any other but Xiaomi is highlighting the alphabet Y in #RealYou and that is why it is expected that the new upcoming phone will be Xiaomi Redmi Y2.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 To Be Amazon Exclusive
One thing that is confirmed is the availability of the Redmi Y2 smartphone. The smartphone will launch on June 7 and it will be Amazon Exclusive. Amazon India has created a special landing page for the new device. The pre-registration for the phone has also started on Amazon India. If it is Redmi Y2 then it will be the successor of the last year launched Redmi Y1 smartphone.
Last year, Xiaomi launched two smartphones in Y series. The two smartphones are Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite. Redmi Y1 Lite is a budget phone while the Redmi Y1 was launched in different variants. Redmi Y1 is also a selfie-centric smartphone and comes with a 16MP camera on the front with selfie flash.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is said to be the Indian variant of the last month launched Xiaomi Redmi S2 smartphone. Xiaomi will not launch the S series in India and it will bring the successor of Redmi Y1. Coming to the specifications of Redmi S2, the phone comes with a display of 5.99-inches and the screen resolution of the phone is 720×1440 pixels. The aspect ratio of the display is 18:9.
Like the Redmi S2, Xiaomi might launch the Redmi Y2 in two variants. The first one will come with the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while the second one will have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Xiaomi may launch the Redmi Y2 smartphone with its latest MIUI 10 and Android Oreo Operating system. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC.
Coming to the camera specifications, Redmi S2 has a dual rear camera at the back with one 12MP sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. For selfies and video calling, the phone has a 16MP camera. Redmi S2 comes with ace unlock feature which is the biggest highlight of the phone. The battery of the phone is 3080mAH.
