Yamaha’s Sportsbikes R15 V3 & R15 R3 With ABS to Soon Launch in India | Features, Price, Launch Date and More

Automaker Yamaha is all set to launch two new sportsbikes in India. It is likely that the automaker will launch the two new bikes at or before the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi. The Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 and the R3 ABS had been spotted testing on Indian roads and are soon going to hit the markets.

The Yamaha R3 was pulled out from the Indian market by the automaker as the new BS4 (Bharat Stage 4) emission norms came into place. Yamaha has recently unveiled the Euro 4 compliant version of the Yamaha R15 R3 sportsbike internationally. It has been reported that the new Euro 4 compliant Yamaha R15 R3 is all set to be launched in India.

The R15 Version 3.0 will feature styling and performance similar to the international version but with some India-specific changes to drive down costs. The India-spec bike will get telescopic front forks in India instead of upside-down forks, and it will also get cheaper tyres. Yamaha R15 R3 sportsbike could get LED headlamps and tail lamps.

The Yamaha R3 ABS is also expected to come with different graphics while other features on the bike are likely to remain the same. The new Yamaha R1 R3 will continue to be powered by the same 300cc, twin cylinder liquid cooled four stroke petrol engine. The petrol unit churns out 41 Bhp and 30 Nm. The superbike has been mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Yamaha R3 comes equipped with Disc brakes both in the front and the rear wheels. The new Yamaha R3 gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear. As per the report, the new bike is likely to be priced in India at Rs. 3.5 lakhs.

Price and engine specifications of the Yamaha R15 V3

The bike is likely to come with the same engine that’s on the international version. The 3.0 Version of the Yamaha R15 gets a new liquid cooled and fuel injected 155cc single cylinder engine that has been tuned to produce more power and torque. The new machines churns out 19.3 PS and 14.7 Nm, which is more than the older 150cc engine. The Yamaha R15 V3 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.25 lakhs in India.
