Yamaha YZF R1 2018 Launched in India at Rs.20.73 Lakh | Check New Updated Features

Yamaha Motors has launched the All new Yamaha YZF R1 2018 in India. The racing sports bike made its way to India soon after its debut at Tokyo Motor Show. Yamaha YZF-R1 is a high-end supersport racing bike from the Japanese sports bike maker offered at a price of Rs.20.73 lakh. The sports bike is launched with many cosmetic upgrades and new features.

Yamaha has planned to increase its market share in the super sports bike segment. The Japanese sports bike maker has launched the Yamaha YZF R1 to target the young racing enthusiasts. The bike continues to import in India as a completely built unit just like its previous version. Yamaha has made the new sports bike available in two colors Tech black and Yamaha Blue.

Yamaha YZF R1 Design and Features

Yamaha YZF R1 comes with the same LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and headlamp without any major changes in design. However, the new colors do add a refreshing touch to its looks. Yamaha has kept the chassis same with a long swingarm rear frame and magnesium alloy wheels with front and rear disc brakes. The front wheel has 320 mm dual disc brakes and the rear wheel has 220 mm single disk brake.

Yamaha YZF R1 Upgrade Features

Regarding the upgrades, 2018 Yamaha YZF R1 is featured with a new Quick Shift System (QSS), that allows the rider to shift gears without using the clutch. Also, the new lift control system maintains adequate power delivery to the rear wheel to avoid unwanted wheelies.

Yamaha YZF R1 Engine Specifications & Safety Features

Yamaha YZF R1 2018 is powered by a 998 cc liquid cooled, 4 cylinder, fuel injected engine with 6-speed transmission gearbox. The 998 cc engine delivers a maximum power of 200 PS at 13,500 rpm and a peak torque of 112.4 Nm at 11,500 rpm. Regarding the safety features Yamaha YZF-R1 is featured with banking sensitive traction control, launch control, slide control, anti-wheelie control, lift control system, unified braking system and standard ABS (Anti Lock Braking System).

The sportbike comes with improved aerodynamics which are rarely available in the Indian market. Yamaha YZF R1 is expected to lock horns with its existing rivals like Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade, Suzuki GSX-R 1000R, Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R and BMW S1000RR.
