2018 Fiat Cronos to Replace Fiat Linea | Likely to Rival Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna

Fiat has recently unveiled its upcoming sedan car Cronos C to replace its existing Fiat Linea in the international markets. The Italian company has not yet told whether it will replace the Linea in India as well. The Linea was launched in India in 2009 and since then the company has not launched a new sedan car. Since its launch in 2009, many other sedans have been launched in the Indian market some of them being extremely popular such as Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.

As the company has planned to replace the Linea with Cronos internationally, its time to replace the Linea in India as well. The Italian carmaker is focussing on building the JEEP brand in India.

The new Sedan Cronos is based on the Agro hatchback that is replacing the Grande Punto in international markets. Fiat Crono is basically the same as Agro upgraded into a sedan car to replace the Linea. The Crono will be launched first in Brazil as it is one of the biggest markets for Fiat.

Fiat Linea Successor Fiat Chronos Engine Specifications

Fiat Chronos will come with a 1.3 litre engine in base models that produce 109 bhp power while the top models will have 1.8 litre engine that produces 139 bhp of power. Both the engines will be flex fuel engine which means the engine that runs both on petrol and blend of petrol and ethanol. The car will also be launched in diesel engines in international markets which prefer diesel engines. The engine will be mated to a five speed manual gearbox. The 1.8 litre engine will also come with a six speed automatic transmission.

Fiat Cronos to Rival Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna

Fiat has not yet confirmed whether the Chronos will be launched in India or not. If launched in India, Cronos will likely be powered by the same 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine and 1.4 litre turbojet Petrol engine options which powers the existing Fiat Linea. Fiat Linea is the most liked car by the fiat lovers in India. The Fiat Chrono, if launched in India, will likely rival the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
