Hatchbacks are the major shareholder in the Indian passenger vehicle segment. According to reports, hatchbacks account for more than 50 per cent market share and are the highest selling segment in the country.
With a major share of car sales volume in India coming from this segment, most of the car manufacturers are bringing in new cars to counter the increasing competition. While several carmakers are introducing new vehicles here is the list of cars that will get major facelift in the coming year. Hyundai Elite i20 facelift
Hyundai’s Elite i20 is automaker’s second-bestselling model in the country. The last update that the Elite i20 underwent was about two years back and the updated car is going to be a major attraction for the car enthusiasts.
The Korean carmaker is all set to unveil a major uplift for its premium hatchback – Elite i20. Test mules of the vehicle have been spotted several times in the last few months and the spied pictures reveal numerous major updates in the car. The cabin will get revised feature list but major changes in the premium hatchback are expected in the face and the rear section.
Ford Figo facelift
After the Ford Ecosport facelift, the American carmaker is planning to update its hatchback the Figo. It is likely that the automaker will unveil the new Ford Figo facelift at the upcoming auto expo in Delhi and it will get several alluring features.
The automaker is also working on the Figo Cross which is likely to being unveiled in India next year. It is likely that the automaker may introduce a new engine in the new Figo and it will unveil the Ford Figo facelift in the next year.
Renault Kwid facelift
Renault Kwid has been a runaway success for the automaker in India. The hatchback from Renault has been a major sale producer for the company since it was introduced in India.
Though Kwid has not received major cosmetic changes in the last two years yet mechanically, a new engine and the introduction of an AMT variant had been great hauls for the automaker. With several carmakers introducing new, as well as facelift variants of their hatchbacks, the French carmaker is also expected to introduce a facelift Kwid soon. It is also being speculated that carmaker may introduce the next generation Kwid in the coming year.
Next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift
Finally, the wait for the most-anticipated hatchback from Maruti Suzuki is going to over in the coming year. India’s largest car manufacturer is all set to unveil the next generation Swift next month and it will be showcased at the upcoming 2018 expo. The new Swift is already being sold in the international market and Maruti Suzuki is all set to bring in the hatchback in the Indian automobile industry.
Swift has been one of the most successful model from the Maruti Stable not just in India but in the international market as well. Loaded with new design, lighter and stronger chassis, better performance and more mileage the all-new Swift is definitely one of the must-wait cars that are going to be launched next year.
