Reliance Jio has stopped the pre-booking of its much talked about 4G feature phone – Jio Phone. As per a message posted on jio.com, the company has suspended the pre-booking of JioPhone. It may be noted that Reliance Jio has opened the pre-bookings of Jio Phone on their website and mobile app on 24th August at 5:30 PM in the evening. Soon after the pre-booking links opened, jio.com website crashed due to huge traffic. As per some media reports, close to a million bookings were made in the initial 3 hours. However, if you are looking forward to booking a Jio Phone, then please be informed that Jio has suspended the pre-bookings.
Jio Phone Pre-Booking & Why it has been suspended
Users were able to pre-book Jio Phone by just paying Rs. 500. Although the Jio phone costs Rs. 1500, the balance of Rs. 1000 was to be paid at the time of delivery. However, as of now the pre-booking of Jio Phone has been suspended. The jio.com website reads:

There is a button to “Register now”. Clicking on it opens a form where users have to fill in their data and the last line says that Jio will inform you when pre-booking resumes.
The reason as to why Jio has suspended the pre-booking of JioPhone has not been mentioned. It is assumed that it has been done as Reliance Jio has already received over 3 Million registrations and it has paused the pre-booking so that it is able to deliver these phones first.
The figure of 3 Million was quoted by a leading media house. The exact number could be much greater than this.
Those who have already pre-booked their JioPhone can know the status of their booking by dialing – 1800-890-8900. It is said that deliveries of JioPhone might begin as soon as September 2017 but the exact date is not yet known.
