Here’s what makes the Piaggio Special Edition Vespa RED different

As such there are no visible changes in the existing Piaggio Vespa and the newly launched Vespa RED. The newly launched scooter by Piaggio is just its namesake. Vespa RED comes with an all-red treatment. The Vespa RED gets a RED paint, plastic panels, seat as well as other features.

The scooter comes with a (Vespa) RED chrome badging. This badging has been placed on the top left side of the front apron of the Vespa RED, along with the Piaggio logo at the centre. Mechanically and visually the only newness that the Vespa RED gets is the styling and colour option, while the basic design of the scooter remains identical to – the Vespa 125.

It is likely that Piaggio might bring in a 150 cc Vespa RED.

Mechanical changes in the Special Edition Vespa RED

Though there are few visual changes, in terms of colour and plastic panels, yet the Vespa RED gets no mechanical changes. Piaggio’s latest offering, Vespa RED comes with the same engine that powers the existing Vespa scooters. Vespa RED is powered by 125 cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder air-cooled engine.

The engine comes paired to a CVT gearbox. The 125cc engine churns out about 10 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque. There are reports that Piaggio might launch the 150cc Vespa RED that will produce more power than the existing one.
