Deepika Padukone Does Justice To Rajasthani Folklore in Padmavati’s new song ‘Ghoomar’

‘Ghoomar’ song from the much hyped Bollywood movie Padmavati is finally out and is giving us major drops about what all grand to expect from the movie. The awaited movie Padmavati which is all set to hit the silver screen on 1st December’ 2017 revolves around the life story of Rani Padmavati, Maharawal Ratan Singh which is played by Shahid Kapoor as well as Ranveer Singh who portrays Alauddin Khilji.

In the recently released ‘Ghoomar’ song of Padmavati movie, Deepika Padukone can be seen all dolled up in the most beautiful outfit, jewellery, makeup, and thus is portraying the dance and culture of Rajasthan immensely well.

Padmavati Movie’s First Song ‘Ghoomar’ Dropped | Tribute To Brave Rajasthani Women 

The first song of Padmavati titled as ‘Ghoomar’ marked its territory as soon as its released. The 3-minute long song witnesses Rani Padmavati played by Deepika Padukone greeting her husband Maharawal Ratan Singh which is played by Shahid Kapoor. The ‘Ghoomar’ song unfolds with Deepika’s magical movements in the song. Deepika is believed to have rehearsed for around 12 days to give this song a perfect shot and according to the director, writer and music producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the main aim was to maintain the very essence of the Jhoomar.

The star cast of Padmavati took various social media platforms to announce the release of the first song of the awaited Bollywood movie Padmavati. As per the sources, Deepika donned a heavy outfit and jewellery for the dance in ‘Ghoomar’ song and had to perform the dance with the view to retain the authenticity of the Rajasthan dance form and folklore. The steps performed portray sheer royalty and it is believed that Deepika took 66 twirls while the ‘Ghoomar’ song was shot. The director-music producer also quoted that this song is a tribute to all the brave women of Rajasthan.

The ‘Ghoomar’ song of Padmavati movie starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor as well as Raveer Singh in the main lead is sung by melodious singers Shreya Ghosal and Swaroop Khan who also penned the Rajasthani lyrics of the song. Otherwise, the lyrics are a composition of A M Turaz. The splendid choreography is a work of Kruti Mahesh Midya and Jhoomar trained exponent – Jhothi D Tommaar.

Not only the song has did every ounce of justice to the spirit of Rajasthani culture and folklore but has also raised the excitement levels thus making it difficult to make peace with the release date of Padmavati movie.
