Char Sahibzade to Feature in NCERT History Books | More Details of the Chapter Here

National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) is all set to include Char Shahibzade history in its books. On the occasion of Martyrdom day of Chaar Sahibzaade of 10th Sikh Master Guru Gobind Singh Ji, NCERT has given the approval to include a new chapter on Char Sahibzade in the syllabus of history books from next session.

From last few years, issues have been raised to teach students about the sacrifice of Chaar Sahibzade. And NCERT approved the same on the occasion of the Martyrdom day of Chaar Sahibzade. Now, students can know about the detailed Sikh history of Char Sahibzaade from the very next session.

NCERT History Book to include Chapter on Char Sahibzade & its details

The issue of the inclusion of Chaar Sahibzaade’s chapter in the History books of NCERT was raised by Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who has been the MLA (Delhi) & Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC). Even the letter regarding the same issue was written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well. And now the Director of NCERT has welcomed the decision of adding a chapter showcasing the supreme sacrifice & unparallel valor in the country by Chaar Sahibzaade.

Chaar Sahibzade of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji- Ajit Singh Ji (18 years) & Juhjhar Singh Ji (14 years) were the martyr of Battle of Chamkaur. Whereas the younger sons (Sahibzaades) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji- Zorawar Singh Ji (9 years) & Fateh Singh Ji (7 years) were bricked by the Mughal ruler of Sirhind. And much more history regarding the Char Sahibzaade will be included in the NCERT book from next session onwards.

What made NCERT to include Chaar Sahibzade History in Books?

With the aim to make the next generation aware of the sacrifice of Char Sahibzade for the sake of humanity & nation at such young age made NCERT agree for the approval of inclusion of the chapter. Also, it has been urged to all education boards to include the same in their history books as well so that children get aware of the supreme sacrifice of Char Sahibzaade that no one else can do in this World at such age.
