The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken major steps involving the changes in the pass criteria for the Class 10 CBSE Batch of year 2017-2018. The CBSE Class 10 Batch 2017-2018 sat for the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2018 in the month of March 2018 is expecting the CBSE Class 10 Board Result 2018 on May 30, 2018.
As per an official notification formulated back in the month of February 2018, certain changes have been proposed in the pass criteria for CBSE Class 10 Batch of 2017-2018 with immediate effect and the students should be well aware with the same. Criteria for Securing 33% Passing Marks Altered by CBSE
As per the changes, a student now needs to secure an overall percentage of 33 percent in each and every subject inclusive of both the internal as well as the external assessment in order to qualify for each examination of the subject instead of fulfilling the passing criteria for the internal as well as the external assessment of each subject.
Whereas, the mandatory passing criteria of securing a minimum of marks in both the internal as well as the external assessment of different subjects shall be applicable to all the subjects which are stated in the Annexure I of the notification of Central Board of Secondary Education dated January 31, 2017. This is exclusive of the language subjects as the modality in context to the additional language subjects remains unchanged similar to what is defined for Language 1 and 2 that is an overall 33 percentage needs to be secured in order to pass the examination by the students.
Provision of Subject Replacement To NSQF Students & Other Changes
The provision of the replacement of the subjects which has been extended to the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) students revolve around the failed subjects which is out of the three subjects except for the language subjects as a vocational subject in which a student has passed under the NSQF will be continued to be notified under the notification extended on March 9, 2017.
The passing criteria will be to secure an overall 33 percentage. Also, the passing criteria are applicable both for the internal exams as well as the board exams. Additionally, an exemption of the additional subjects from the passing criteria norms has been introduced byCentral Board of Secondary Education.
