Airtel Starts Testing Volte in 5 Circles | Launch Date & More Info

Bharti Airtel, the largest mobile operator in India now confirms that they are conducting the trials of VoLTE or Voice over LTE technology in 5 cities with the hope to implement it later this year [2017] all over India. With this voice over LTE, it will make facilitating voice in 4G network that in turn will reduce the cost of voice calls.

Presently only Reliance Jio is facilitating the feature if the voice on 4G network in India that is, in turn, using VoLTE technology. Also, the incumbent Talcos has also been providing the facility of voice calls to all their 4G customers with the support of their well equipped and functioning 2G and 3G.

Larger Players like Airtel Planning to Implement VoLTE Service Pan India

This year Airtel is testing the voice over LTE for their 4G customers initially in 5 cities. Later this year Airtel is planning to take the technology PAN India. After the successful implementation of VoLTE by the Reliance Jio, Airtel is coming in the race and is going to compete with the rival Reliance Jio. Sources even say that they are going to provide even cheaper call rates over 4G than Reliance Jio.

Directly from the sources at Bharti Airtel, it has come to the notice that they are launching their VoLTE service initially in 5 cities of India to test and later they this year positively, they will spread the technology PAN India.

Recently with Reliance Jio VoLTE implementation, the users are getting an exceptionally low cost for telecom operators. Where Jio’s infrastructure is providing free voice and extremely low prices in Indian Market to their 100 million customers till date within months, there, Bharti Airtel is planning to compete with the Reliance Jio implementing their VoLTE to 5 cities initially to test.

With the latest survey and study, Ericsson said that the VoLTE subscribers are continuously increasing and will raise to 370 million by 2022 in India whereas globally it is set to increase to 4.6 Billion in the same duration.
