You Can Now Buy Redmi 5a, Mi Max 2 & Other Xiaomi Phones Through Google Tez on Mi.com & Mi Store App

The Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has introduced the Google Tez payment option on its official website Mi.com and Mi store App. Xiaomi customers will now be able to make payments for Mi gadgets through Google Tez app. There are already more than 12 million active users of Google Tez app in India. 

Now the Xiaomi customers will get an option to select Google Tez as a payment option on the Mi website and Mi store App.

Benefits of Google Tez App to Xiaomi Customers

Xiaomi’s integration with Google Tez would encourage Mi customers to buy the Mi gadgets on Mi.com instead of other online marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart. Customers can pay directly on Mi.com and Mi store app through Google Tez to buy Mi smartphones, Mi phone accessories, and other gadgets. Google Tez app is available to use in seven Indian languages (Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu & Tamil) in addition to English. Users will need a Gmail account and mobile number to use Google Tez app.

Now with the introduction of Google Tez app on Mi.com and Mi store, Xiaomi will accept payments from customers through Tez UPI ids. Xiaomi told in a press statement that over 21 million users visit the Mi.com every month and over a million active users daily. Also, the Mi store app has been installed by over 20 million users on their smartphones. The large user base of Mi.com and Mi store App will benefit Google Tez to some extent as Xiaomi customers will use it to buy Mi gadgets.

Xiaomi contributes to Digital India initiative through Google Tez

As Xiaomi is one of the top smartphone brands in India with a market share of over 50 percent. A significant portion of Xiaomi market share in India is attributed to Mi.com. Xiaomi hopes to provide its customers with a better shopping experience with a new payment option that is cashless. Customers will be able to pay through any bank account in their Google Tez account. With the introduction of Google Tez as a payment option, Xiaomi has taken another step to contribute to government’s “Digital India” initiative.
