CBSE 10th Board Exams 2018 Passing Criteria | Wait for Final Date Sheet Continues!

Central Board of secondary education has not yet announced the final date sheet for the CBSE 10th & 12th board exams 2018 and while the students wait for the date sheet, the passing criteria for both CBSE 12th and CBSE 10th board exam have been published by the board. The board has deliberately delayed the release of the final date sheet of the board exams this year. This delay in the release of the final exam date sheet for CBSE board exams 2018 has been due to the pending elections in 4 different states of the country. The board decided to delay the release of the 10th & 12th board exams 2018 date sheet to avoid the overlap of the exam dates with the dates of elections.

There have been sources who are confirming that the board is planning to soon release the final date sheet for both CBSE 10th and 12th board exams 2018 in this week of January. Also, the final practical exams for both 10th and 12th classes are going to begin this week. As per the circular circulated to every CBSE affiliated school, the practical exams should be concluded around 25th February 2018. While the wait for the date sheet continues, the students can now check the passing criteria for both 10th and 12th board exams 2018.

According to the passing criteria published online by CBSE for the 10th board exams, students who wish to pass the exam must score grade higher than E in all the 5 subjects. All the details of the passing criteria are defined below, and the students can verify these details via the official website of the CBSE board.

According to the defined passing criteria, all the students should score higher grade than E in all the 5 subjects of the external examination in the mains or in the compartments. Also, according to the Central Board of secondary education, no overall division/distinction/aggregate shall be awarded. Students failing in 2 subjects out of the 5 in CBSE 10th board exams 2018 shall be put on for the compartment in those failing subjects. Also, note that the this shall only happen if the student qualifies in all the subjects of internal assessment.

Coming to the additional language subjects. According to the CBSE 10th Board exams, 2018 passing criteria if a student fails in the selected language the option of replacing the language will be open. In that case, the student will be instructed to choose from either English or Hindi languages.

These are the passing criteria defined by the CBSE board for 10th board exams going to be held in 2018. Also, the sources have claimed that the exams will soon commence in the month of March 2018. According to the media reports, CBSE 10th & 12th board exams 2018 date sheet will be published in this week of January.
