CBSE Datesheet 2018 | CBSE Hints at Lesser Breaks Between 10th & 12th Class Board Exams 2018

The Central Board of Secondary Education confirmed to end the CBSE class 10 and class 12 board exams within a month. CBSE said that it would not start the class 10 and 12 board exams from February 2018. The CBSE exams 2018 are likely to commence in the first week of March as reported by the Hindustan Times. However, the board officials did hint that the board is going to shorten the time period of CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12 exams.

CBSE Exams 2018 Time Period to be Shortened

CBSE may shorten the time period of exams from a 45 or 50 days time to about a month. This might mean that CBSE may offer lesser breaks between class 10 and class 12 examinations.

Earlier in June 2017, the board was thinking to commence the CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12 exams in the month of February 2018. The proposal was to have a sufficient time for evaluation of papers. However, many stakeholders had concerns regarding the advancement of the CBSE exams 2018 schedule.

A big reason was that CBSE class 10 students would appear in the exams based on the full syllabus for the first time. CBSE class 10 exams would be based on the entire syllabus for the first time in many years. However, keeping in view the concern of release of results on time and providing sufficient time to evaluators, the board plans to reduce the time of CBSE exams 2018.

CBSE Exams 2018 Dates to be Released Soon

The students of class 10 and class 12 may get lesser breaks between two papers in CBSE exams 2018. However, the board has not yet released the actual dates for CBSE exams 2018. CBSE has already started the process of registrations for class 10 and class 12 exams. CBSE and ICSE boards are waiting for the polling dates in 4 states of Karnataka, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura.

A CBSE official confirmed that the CBSE exam 2018 dates have been deferred until the announcement of polling dates. As reported by the officials, the CBSE class 10 exams are expected to be completed by March 2018. However, the CBSE class 12 exams are likely to be extended until the third week of April 2018.
