CLAT 2018 Exam on May 13 | Registrations to Start on Jan 1 | Check Application Details

The registrations for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) are going to start from 1st of January. CLAT 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 2018, for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate Law courses in 19 National Law Universities in the country. The examination is conducted by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) Kochi. CLAT is a national level examination which the candidates need to clear for admission to UG and PG Law programmes.

CLAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to appear in CLAT 2018 candidates must have passed class XII or its equivalent with at least 45 percent marks for admission to undergraduate courses. The candidates appearing for class XII examination are also eligible to apply. For Postgraduate courses, applicants must have passed a five year integrated LLB course or its equivalent with minimum 55 percent marks from a recognized university. Regarding the age criteria, there is no upper age limit for CLAT 2018.  

CLAT 2018 Application Procedure

To apply for CLAT 2018, candidates will be required to apply through the Online Application Processing System (CAPS). First of all the applicants need to create a login ID and select the course for which they wish to apply. After creating ID and selecting the course, applicants need to enter the personal details like name, educational qualification, date of birth and mobile number. After filling and submitting the details, an application number and registration will be generated which the candidates should save carefully. After that, candidates will be required to enter details like address, educational qualification, and NLU preference choice. After selecting the preferred NLU candidates will need to upload the photograph, signature, and proof of date of birth.

CLAT 2018 Application Fee

The Application fee for CLAT 2018 is Rs.4000/- for general candidates, specially-abled persons and other categories of candidates. For applicants from SC and ST categories application fee is Rs.3500/-. Applicants can pay the application fee through any bank’s debit card, credit card or internet banking. For more details regarding CLAT 2018, candidates are advised to visit the official website clat.ac.in. The last date to register and apply for Common Law Admission Test is March 31, 2018.
