CTET 2019 – Exam Notification, Eligibility & Important Dates (Updated)

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2019) is a national level exam held by CBSE for the recruitment of primary and secondary school teachers every year. From 2019 onwards, CBSE will be conducting the CTET Exam twice in a year and it will be held in the month of July and December. According to the official notification, CTET exam for July session is scheduled to be held on 7th July 2019 in various centers all over India.

Central Board of Secondary Education has been conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test annually from last many years and this year it is CTET 2019. Not just B.Ed, but even your CTET certificate is a must to be a Teacher in any of the Schools in India. From notification to eligibility criteria, application filling process to admit cards, important date (application start and last date) to exam pattern (syllabus) and more, check out all the details of CTET July and December 2019 below.

CTET July & December 2019: All About the Exam

CTET is a yearly based exam that has been conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. It has been a national level exam that use to be held to hire primary and secondary school teachers all over India. CTET exam used to be conducted in 2 papers and both Paper I and II are of 2 and a half hours. It’s an offline mode of exam and the question paper consist of total 150 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) of 150 marks. Also, there has been no negative marking in the CTET 2019 Exam. Although as per candidates’ responses the difficulty level of this exam is moderate. Whereas the candidates can write the exam in 23 languages including- Hindi, English, Punjabi, Oriya, Bengali and many more. Further after the declaration of the result, those who pass the same will receive a CTET eligibility certificate from the Board.

Official Notification including All Important Dates for CTET Exam 2019

As far as the official notification is concerned, CBSE uses to release the same for July session in the month of February. Whereas the official notification for CTET 2019 for December session will be out by September month. As per the CTET official notification for July session 2019, CBSE has gone through the application process in the month of February and March 2019. Further for CTET December 2019, CBSE will open the registration/ application link by September 2019. As far as the last date for the online application filling is concerned, CTET closed the application process for July session on 3rd March, whereas it will end the same for December session in the month of October 2019. Once the online application filling process closes for the CTET 2019, CBSE allows candidates to make a correction in their respective application for the exam within a given period of time on the official website. Although the admit cards for the candidates will be available online for downloading 10 days prior to the exam date for CTET July and December exam 2019.

CTET 2019: Eligibility Details & Who All Can Apply for the Exam?

Eligibility for Primary Teacher (Class I to V) via CTET 2019

Qualified Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and appearing in final year/ passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Qualified Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed/ appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE Regulation 2002.

Completed Senior Secondary with atleast 50% marks and passed/ appearing in the final year of 4 years of Bachelor in Elementary Education.

Completed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed/ appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (special education).

Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed.

Elementary Teacher post (Class VI to VIII)

Graduation and passed/ appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Graduation with 50% marks and passed/ appearing in 1 year B.Ed.

Completed Graduation with 45% and passed/ appearing in 1 year B.Ed in accordance with NCTE regulation.

Qualified Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education.

Completed Senior Secondary with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last year of 4 year BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.

Graduation with 50% and passed/ appearing in 1 year B.Ed (Special Education).

Also, candidates of CTET 2019, who have qualified B.Ed programme by NCTE have been eligible for CTET Exam.

Here’s how to fill the Application Form for CTET Exam

Candidates willing to fill up the CTET application form for the year 2019 will have to choose online mode only. As CBSE does not accept offline mode of application for the CTET exam 2019. Although the application process also includes the fee payment and uploading of the documents. According to the official notification, interested candidates have to follow few steps to register themselves for the CTET Exam 2019-

Firstly one has to go to the official website of the CTET 2019 i.e ctet.nic.in.

Then you have to click to the link stating- Apply here for CTET 2019

Once the new page opens up, then fill up your personal details as per your 10th certificate

Then choose 3 of your favourable exam centres and prefered language as well as paper.

Then fill up the communication, academic and other required details along with the security text.

After all the personal details, one has to move to the uploading of the photograph and signature. The photo and signature of the candidate must be in JPG/ JPEG format as per the CTET 2019 notification. Even the size of the photo must be in between 10 to 100 KB and for signature, it should be 3 to 30 Kb. Once the images will be uploaded, the candidates will be redirected to the fee payment page

Then the candidates have to move forward for the application fee for the CTET exam 2019. One has to pay an online fee via e-challan, debit/credit card and net banking. Whereas even the CTET application fee 2019 can be paid via offline mode, only the candidates have to download the e-challan and deposit the fee Syndicate or Canara Bank. As far as the CTET 2019 application fee is concerned, candidates have to pay Rs. 700 (General/OBC) and Rs. 350 (SC/ST/Differently Able) for any of the 1 paper. Further for both the CTET papers, candidates will have to pay an application fee of an amount of Rs. 1200 (General/ OBC) and Rs. 600 (SC/ST/Differently able). Even extra GST charges will be applicable by the Bank for the same.

Lastly, a preview of the final application form for Central Teachers Eligibility Test will appear on the screen and candidates have to take a print out of the confirmation page for future references. Further candidates should not send any hard copy of the same to any of the CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test) office. Although if in case the confirmation page failed to be generated after depositing the fee as well, then the candidate must approach to CTET Joint Secretary with the payment proof for the consideration of his/her candidature for CTET exam 2019 (July or December).

Know Admit Card details and Process to Download

CTET-exam

After the closing of the CTET online application process for July and December session 2019, candidates use to wait for their respective admit cards for the exam. Although the candidates will be able to download the CTET admit cards for the official website, almost 10 days prior to the exam date. Like, for CTET July 2019, candidates can download the admit card in the last week of June. Once CBSE uploads the admit cards for CTET 2019 candidates, the students can download it from the official website.

Firstly one has to open the CTET exam 2019 official website and then click on the link stating- download CTET July/ December 2019 Admit card here.

After the same, candidates have to fill the registration number and DOB and then click on submit.

Then the CTET admit card of the candidate will appear on the screen

Afterwards, candidates can click on the download button and get their respective admit card for CTET Exam 2019.

Also, make sure you download your CTET Admit card from the official website. As CBSE will not send any hard copy of the admit cards in your mentioned address. Although if any discrepancy occurs on the same, then the candidate must report it to the CTET authority for any correction as soon as possible.

Details of Exam Centre for CTET 2019

Further, when it comes to CTET Exam centre for the year 2019 (July/ December session), candidates have a choice to fill 3 preferences of their exam centres. During the filling up of the application process for CTET, candidates have been asked to choose 3 preferences of exam centre. Also, CTET has their exam centres in every possible location in India and as well as in UAE, Saudi Arabia and Andaman & Nicobar Island. There have been almost 97 locations for the CTET Exam centres 2019.

CBSE use to consider the first preference of the candidates to allot them as their respective centre, if not then they move on to the second or third preference of the CTET exam centre for the year 2019. Whereas the final allotment of the exam centre of the candidates will appear on the admit card. Also, no further request to change the exam centre for the CTET exam 2019 will be entertained by the CBSE Board after the declaration of the admit card to the candidate. According to the official notification, CTET candidates have to carry their respective admit cards and a photo ID proof (PAN Card/ Adhaar card/ Driving License/ Passport/ Voter ID Card) along with them to the exam hall. As no candidates will be allowed to enter the CTET exam centre 2019 without any of these documents.

CTET 2019 (July/ December): Exam pattern & Syllabus

As far as the Exam pattern and syllabus of CTET 2019 is concerned, the question paper of Paper I and II will consist of a total of 150 marks and 150 MCQs. Also, both the CTET papers of 2019 will be divided into 5 different sections, that need to be completed in 150 minutes. For Primary Teacher- Paper I (Class 1 to 5)

Section 1- Child development and Pedagogy will have a total of 30 Question. It will include- Child development (15 questions), Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with a special need (5 questions), Learning and Pedagogy (10 questions).

Section II- Language I consist of total of 30 questions and it will have 15-15 questions from Language Comprehension and Pedagogy of Language Development.

Section III- Language II will have 30 questions in total and it will have 15 questions form Comprehension and 15 from Pedagogy of Language Development.

Section IV with have 30 Mathematics questions. 15-15 questions each of content (geometry, shapes, multiply, division, measurement & more) and Pedagogical issues.

Section V- It will have 30 questions from Environmental Science. 15-15 each from content, which includes friends, family, food, shelter, water and so on and pedagogical issues.

For Elementary Stage (Class VI to VIII)

Section 1- Child development and Pedagogy will have a total of 30 Question. It will include- Child development (15 questions), Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with a special need (5 questions), Learning and Pedagogy (10 questions).

Section II- Language I consist of total of 30 questions and it will have 15-15 questions from Language Comprehension and Pedagogy of Language Development.

Section III- Language II will have 30 questions in total and it will have 15 questions form Comprehension and 15 from Pedagogy of Language Development.

Section IV (Mathematics & Science)- It will have a total of 60 questions, 30-30 each of Mathematics and Science. Mathematics will include Content and Pedagogical issues of 20 and 10 questions respectively. Whereas Science will consist of Content and Pedagogical issues of 20 and 10 questions.

Section V (Social Studies/ Social Science)- This section will have 60 questions and will be divided into 40 and questions of content and pedagogical issues respectively.

As per the marks is concerned, the candidate will get 1 marks for each correct answer during the CTET exam 2019. Even there will be no negative marking according to the official notification for any of the incorrect answers in the CTET Exam 2019.

More Important Instruction to be Followed by Candidates During CTET Exam

Even the candidate appearing for the CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test) has to remember these important things. Check out some important details regarding CTET Exam for the year 2019 here-

Exam hall for CTET will open 90 minutes prior to the commencement of exam timing. Further, the candidates will have to take the seat as soon as possible.

The candidates need to have an admit card and valid photo ID card along with them, As no candidates will be allowed to enter the CTET exam hall 2019 without any of these.

Also, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the hall after the commencement of the exam.

CTET candidates for the year 2019 will not be able to take- textual matter, plastic bottle, pen drive, calculator, mobile, cardboard, camera, wrist watch, snacks and much more along with them.

Even smoking, spitting or chewing gutka is strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.

Although before the declaration of the CTET Result 2019, CBSE will release the answer key on the official website. Then CBSE will declare the CTET July session 2019 result on the official website by the end of July or starting of August month on the official website. On the other hand, the CTET December 2019 result will be declared by the board on Demeber last or first week of January 2020. Once CBSE declare the result of CTET 2019 on the official website, candidates can check the same by following simple steps-

Firstly one has to open the CTET official website and then click on the CTET result 2019 (July/ December) link on the homepage.

After the opening of the same, then the candidate has to fill up the required information like roll-number, registration number or DOB.

Then the candidates have to click on the submit button to get their respective CTET result for 2019.

Also, the CTET candidates are requested to download and take a print out of the result for the future reference.

Whereas the CTET eligibility certificate is sent by Speed post to those candidates, who scored more than 60% in the Central Teachers Eligibility Test.

Although the cut-off for the CTET 2019 will be out after the declaration of the result. According to the expectation, CTET cut-off for 2019 will be like- General (80-87%), OBC (82-85%) and SC/ST (75-80%).

CTET July/ December 2019: Some more Information

Not just this, the Central Teacher Eligibility Test contains much more information that can occur into any candidates mind. Here are the answer to a few questions that occur in your mind;

There is no such limitation in appearing for the CTET exam and you can appear for CTET exam numerous time you want to.

Once you get the CTET certificate, then the same will be valid for 7 years from the date of declaration of the result.

Whereas further if you lost your CTET certificate, then you can get it by paying a fine of Rs. 200 drawn in favour of CBSE Board, Delhi.

If any applicant loses his/ her registration/ application or roll number, the Board will not be responsible for the same.

Also, no candidates will be allowed to sit in any other place except their allotted seat during the CTET Exam 2019.

Even before highlighting the answer on the OMR Sheet, make sure about the same, As changing of the answers will not be allowed.

Also make sure that before leaving the exam hall, you must submit your answer sheet to the examiner and sign on the sheet. As not doing this may lead to the cancellation of your candidature from CTET 2019.
