The Punjabi Rockstar and Actor, Diljit Dosanjh is now to act as a lead in the biopic of former Hockey captain Sandeep Singh produced by Chitrangada Singh. After the ravishing and award-winning success of Diljit’s recent Bollywood movie- Udta Punjab [2016] for which he was awarded the best debut and Phillauri where he marked his name in the fine gold in Bollywood industry, now, according to the sources, he is moving ahead with his first Hindi solo film.
As per the Bollywood sources, Diljit Dosanjh is now going to play hockey and India’s former hockey Captain Sandeep Singh in the Chitrangada Singh’s Production of his biopic.
Sandeep Singh, The Former Indian Hockey Team’s Captain
Sandeep Singh is renowned for his game and position of Captain in the Indian Hockey Team. He played as a full back and was also a good penalty corner specialist in the team. His name floated in the news for his return in the game after his injury that occurred in 2006. He was hit by an accidental gun shot while traveling to join the national team for World Cup in Germany on the Shatabadi Express. Sandeep Singh is now 31 years old and is currently working as deputy superintendent with Haryana Police.
Although Chitrangada had all the rights to the story three years back but, the film took its time to find the right actor to play Sandeep Singh. Although it was requested by the former captain to let Ranbir Kapoor play him in the biopic, but the idea was dropped soon enough. After Chitrangada teamed up with Sneha Rajani [Sony TV], the film started to roll on in progress.

Also, as per the sources while Diljit Dosanjh, the Punjabi Superstar is known to play the lead in movie, Shaad Ali [director of movies like Saathiya, Bunty aur Bubli and Ok Jannu] is known to direct this biopic. Also, it is heard that Diljit Dosanjh was unanimously found fit for the role to a T by the creative heads. where no other information is out regarding the movie, there all of Diljit fans are excited to see the hero as a lead in the movie.
