Dubai’s Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar made the Guinness World Record on Thursday by serving 600 hundred people of 101 different nationalities.
The Gurdwara served diverse people in an hour-long event called “Breakfast for Diversity” at the place called Jebel Ali in Dubai.
The Event
A Dubai newspaper named The Khaleej Times informed that a vast number of people and children attended the ‘Breakfast for Diversity’ event. The Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh also attended the event as the chief guest. Since the event was very well promoted, people from various parts of the city came to Jebel Ali Gardens where tents were arranged for the people to gather and enjoy the marathon feast.
The Record
The officials of the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that the Dubai Grudwara broke the previous record of 55 nationalities having a continental breakfast, organised by Nutella at the Milan Expo in Italy in 2015.
The Guinness World Records manager Talal Omar, said, “It’s a very proud moment for them to be a part of the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar and supporting it in breaking an amazing world record that brings together a diverse group of people of multiple faiths.”

Apart from being one of the world’s most stylish Gurdwaras, this Dubai Gurdwara is very famous for serving free meals to its visitors. It’s huge community kitchen serves over 50,000 Sikh devotees in the UAE.
Surendra Kandhari the chairman of the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar told the daily newspaper that” Sikhism has full faith and belief in the diversity of humanity and believes in respecting each and every human being.”
He further added that” the Gurudwara has been volunteering charity works not only for the Indian community but also for the entire UAE community. We feel blessed to give in any form and believe in complete selfless service to the society.”
