Amid the facelift race, the facelift version of Ford’s hatchback – Figo had been spotted in India. As per the report, Ford Motors is likely to unveil the facelift Ford Figo in India soon. Ford has recently launched the facelift version of its compact SUV Ford Ecosport and now reports are that the facelift Ford Figo facelift that has been recently spotted testing in India will soon make its way to the market.
Ford Figo facelift spotted testing in India
After the launch of the Ford Ecosport facelift, the automaker is all set to launch the new model of its hatchback – Ford Figo. The new hatchback is likely to get fresh interior and exterior. In addition to the cosmetic upgrades, it is speculated that the new Figo will come with a mechanical update. The carmaker may introduce a new petrol engine in the hatchback facelift.
With most of the automakers gearing up to unveil most of their new concepts and showcase new models at the most sought-after auto show in the country – the 2018 Auto Expo, it is likely that Ford might also use the platform to unveil the facelift version of its hatchback the new Figo. The facelifted model is expected to come with a sportier appeal.
Specifications of the Ford Figo facelift to be unveiled in India soon
The new Ford Ecosport facelift has been one of the best sellers in the segment and the carmaker is hoping the same results from the new facelift hatchback – the Ford Figo. With the next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift all set to be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, Ford might also showcase the Figo facelift at the expo.
Redesigned bumper, a new grille and tweaked blacked out headlamp are some of the expected changes on the front facet of the new model of Figo. Though the side-profile of the Figo facelift appears almost similar to the current generation model, yet the newly designed set of alloy wheels adds to the look of the car. On the rear end, the taillights too have also been tweaked.
A new engine under the hood?
Reports are that the new Ford Figo facelift will continue to be powered by a 1.0-litre TDCi engine. The current power terrain produces 99bhp of power and 215Nm of peak torque at 3750rpm and 1750rpm respectively. The diesel unit currently comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
It has been reported that Ford may introduce a new 1.5-litre three cylinder petrol engine in the hatchback. The same engine that is currently being used in the newly launched Ford EcoSport facelift. The newly introduced petrol engine pumps 121bhp of power and 150Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm and 4500rpm respectively in the machine.
Speculations are that the 1.5-litre petrol engine might be offered in two transmission options – a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.
