Jharkhand’s Sahibganj will be getting a Ganga Bridge and the foundation stone for the same was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sahibganj in Jharkhand today. Modi has again shown that he is dedicatedly working for the development of our country.
Ganga bridge will be built over the holy river Ganga as a port. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in a special Air Force plane at Purnea in Bihar and continued his journey to Sahibganj in a helicopter.
Sahibganj to Manihari Bridge on Ganga
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for building a bridge on Ganga which will be a 4-lane bridge connecting Sahibganj to Manihari in Bihar‘s Katihar district. This would be an important step for Jharkhand.
The distance between Sahibganj in Jharkhand and Manihari in Bihar will reduce drastically with the help of this bridge on Ganga river.
The work on the bridge has begun with the foundation stone and is expected to be completed within time.
Security Arrangements at Sahibganj
High-security arrangements were made in Sahibganj. The state government had requested to deploy 5 companies of paramilitary forces, rapid action force, rapid police forces and an anti-terrorist squad.
Apart from this, a bomb disposal squad and 14 fire tenders were also present at the venue. More than 1800 policemen including 3 SPs, 35 DSP rank officials were on duty to take care of the security during the program at Sahibganj. The administration had banned the operation of boats and steamers for 2 days between Mahadeoganj and Sankrigali.
To avoid any kind of suspicious activity during the program, police forces were deployed on the banks of the holy river Ganga.
The chief minister of Jharkhand state along with several Union Ministers were also present.
