Telecom operator Idea has launched a new plan 398 with 70GB data to counter Jio 399 plan that offers the same, 70GB data and free calling. The new plan 398 is launched by Idea just after it introduces the 309 plan with 28 days validity and 1GB data per day. Idea 398 plan is not now but it is a revision of the plan. Earlier in this plan Idea is offering 35 days validity.
Jio 399 plan offers 70GB data with free unlimited calls and SMS. So the new Idea plan 398 will definitely compete the Jio 399 plan. Users can check their My Idea App to know whether this plan is available for them or not. Idea 398 Plan Details
Under the new 398 plan of Idea, Users will get Free calling. Free calls in Idea latest pack includes all Local, STD & Roaming calls. The daily limit of free calls in Idea 398 plan is 250 minutes and the weekly limit of free calls is 1000 minutes. Apart from calling benefits users will get 70GB data with the new pack of Idea. The daily limit of data usage in 398 pack is 1GB. The plan also comes with 100 SMS per day. The validity of Idea 398 pack is 70 days.
If a user will cross daily and weekly limit of free calling minutes then he/she will be charged as 1 paise per second. Users can’t call to more than 100 unique numbers. If it happens then again 1 paise per second will be charged. Buyer can also get a cashback if they recharge the same via my Idea app. Cashback will be in form of Vouchers and users will get 7 vouchers of Rs.51. The vouchers can be redeemed for further recharge of 300 or above. Only one voucher can be used once.
Jio 4G 399 Plan Vs Idea 398 Plan
If we see on both plans then it looks similar but there is a catch in the plan of Idea. In Idea 398 plan calls are not unlimited as there is a daily & weekly capping while Jio calls are totally free. Another big thing is data usage after the daily limit. After the daily data usage limit, the data will stop or you will be charged but in Jio 399 plan there are no such conditions.
