After the launch of two new special add-on pack, now Idea Cellular has launched a new prepaid plan 499 to compete with Airtel 499 plan. This new prepaid plan of Idea will offer its prepaid users 164GB 4G/3G data. The plan also offers free calls and the calls are not unlimited in this plan. Idea New Plan 499 Details
With the launch of the Idea new prepaid plan 499, the company has added one more plan in the unlimited plan portfolio of Idea. Talking about the benefits of the plan 499 of Idea, users will get free calls in the plan. The calls are not unlimited as there is a FUP on calls. The daily free calling is limited to 250 minutes while the weekly free calling is limited to 1000 minutes. If users will call more than 1000 minutes per week then standard rates will be applied.
The customers can only make outgoing voice calls to 100 unique numbers and not more than 100 numbers. Talking about the data benefits of the Idea 499 plan, users will get a total of 164GB data. The daily data usage limit in the 499 Idea Plan is 2GB. The plan also offers 100 free SMS per day and after the 100 SMS, standard SMS charges will be applied.
Idea 499 Plan Vs Airtel 499 Plan
Data Benefits: Well if we see the daily data usage in the Airtel 499 plan and Idea 499 plan then this is equal. But after the usage of daily data limit, Airtel users can use the unlimited data at a speed of 128 Kbps while in Idea the data usage will stop. This is the latest change that Airtel added in all unlimited plans.
Calling Benefits: Both the plans i.e Airtel 499 and Idea 499 offers free calls but Airtel also offers unlimited. Sounds weird but its true. There is no capping on the calls in the Airtel 499 plan. But Idea 499 plan comes with daily calling limit of 250 minutes and weekly calling limit of 1000 minutes.
Other Benefits: Both the plans offer 100 Free SMS per day. Airtel 499 plan is an open market plan while on the other side, Idea Cellular plan 499 is limited to some circles.
