IGNOU 2018: Indira Gandhi National Open University, Dehradun has to close down almost 100 courses as per the order of UGC from 2018 onwards. Although IGNOU has been ongoing with the admission process for the July session 2018. Now the University has been advised to shut down 100 of its ongoing UG and PG courses from the session 2018-19.
One of the largest open University, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) despite of its July admission 2018 has been closing down 100 of UG and PG courses. Although these courses will only shut down in the Dehradun branch of IGNOU from 2018-19 onwards. Know details of the report for the shutting down of these many courses in IGNOU below.
IGNOU 2018: 100 Courses to close from Session 2018-19 in the University
DEC (Distance Education Bureau) of UGC (University Grants Commission) has only given green signal to 42 courses of IGNOU Dehradun for the admission 2018. Although earlier IGNOU Dehradun uses to take admission for around 150 UG and PG courses. But after the notice of UGC DEC, Indira Gandhi National Open University will now only have permission for admission in 42 courses for the 2018-19 session. Almost 100 courses of IGNOU Dehradun has been on a stake after the notice of UGC DEC.
Although no official announcement regarding the same has been made by IGNOU Dehradun. It has been said that although it’s on the primary stage, further courses will get the affiliation soon. Apart from IGNOU, Uttarakhand Open University has to close its 75 courses and 5 courses remained for the admission in the 2018-19 session.

One hand Indira Gandhi National Open University Dehradun has lost the affiliation for 100 of courses. On the other hand, IGNOU from its July 2018 session has launched numerous short-term courses. From the Japanese language to the Korean language, a short-term course from the health sector to Diploma in Event Mangement, IGNOU for the year 2018 has come up with multiple new courses.
All those seeking admission in IGNOU for July 2018 session can register themselves on or before the last date i.e 16 August. One can register themselves online for the IGNOU Admission here for ongoing July session 2018. Afterwards one can go through the IGNOU admission process on December 2018.
