Jio Phone Bookings Open | Know Documents Needed, Delivery Date & More

Ahead of the scheduled August 24 date, Jio Phone bookings have already started in India. It was reported that bookings have started in certain offline retail stores in the Delhi-NCR area. The news has spread like the forest fire and people are thronging the place to book their Jio phone to be the first one to own the one as the company has declared that the Rs 1500- Jio phone will be delivered on a first come, first serve basis. Read on to know what are the documents that are needed to buy the Jio phone? How many units can be ordered by an individual? What is the delivery date, and when and where to make the refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,500?

Jio Phone booking with Aadhaar number

Alike the Jio sim, to book JioPhone as well the customer needs to submit a copy of Aadhaar card ID. This necessary document is to be submitted with the authorized Jio retailer. One can submit the document either at a Reliance Jio outlet or a nearby store.

How many units can you Order?

As an individual customer, one can only get one unit. This Jio phone will be delivered on the first come, first serve basis and will be linked directly with the Aadhaar number across the country. In short, there will be one Jio Phone issued on one Aadhaar ID. Because of the fact that the Jio Phone will be available on Aadhaar ID, one individual will not be able to buy multiple Jio phones on one Aadhaar number. All the details of the Aadhaar number will be uploaded into centralized software once the documents are submitted at the store. After the successful compilation of the details, a token number will be assigned to the consumer which will be essential while picking up the phone.

It has already been announced by Mukesh Ambani that with an upfront, refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,500, the JioPhone will effectively be free. This sum of Rs 1500 can be easily reclaimed after 36 months. Whenever a consumer will make the JioPhone booking offline he will not require to pay anything, the only document he would require is the Aadhaar card number. The payment of Rs. 1,500 will have to be made during the delivery of the Jio phone. The consumer will have to pay the security deposit of Rs 1500 while picking up the unit from the offline retail store.
