This is the ninth edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) as well as for its host, actor- Amitabh Bachchan who had made his debut on television with this show some 17 years back.

The Indian mobile giant Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo Communication Technology Co. Ltd and Ching’s brand of India’s Capital Foods Pvt. Ltd, are some of the prime sponsors of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9.
With the highest bid, Reliance Jio has sealed the deal of Rs100 crore along with Rs 50 crore each by Vivo and Chings, Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 as the sponsor. This year’s sponsorships are way higher than that what KBC’s previous years had. Apart from these big sponsors, KBC 9 has also managed to rope in a few more associate sponsors for the show that includes Axis Bank, Big Bazaar, Raymond, quick Heal, Datsun and Aakash Institute with Rs10-15 crore each.

There will be no movie promotions or integrations unlike previous seasons and the JioChat application will allow viewers at home to play along with the show.
However, the channel, as well as the show makers, have decided to keep away from any movie promotion on the game show this time. Though celebrities will be invited to play and appear on the Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 but only for the noble cause or with an intent to raise funds for charity.
