Mahindra Scorpio Facelift is Coming Soon | Know Changes & Check What’s Under The Hood

Mahindra Scorpio facelift is all set to be launched in India. The second generation of Mahindra Scorpio was launched three years back and since then there had been no major change in the appearance of the SUV. Over the years, competition in the segment is becoming stronger, and Mahindra is working continuously to update the Scorpio to retain its position in the market.

Facelifted Scorpio seen testing on Indian roads

According to report, a test mule of the Mahindra Scorpio has been caught testing on the Indian Roads.  The new Mahindra Scorpio will carry the same outline of the current generation Scorpio. Nevertheless, there will be slight changes to the design. The grille of the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift will be updated. The design of the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift is expected to be a 7-slat design that has been inspired by the Imperio pick-up truck.

The front bumper of the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been updated and made bolder. The new Mahindra Scorpio facelift is likely to get wider air dams coupled with new slats. According to reports, the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift is expected to carry the same headlamps as the current model but the side panel may get slight changes from the current model. The biggest change would be a new set of alloy wheel design that the facelift version is expected to get. The plastic cladding design has been changed to make the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift appear muscular.

The facelift variant of the Scorpio facelift is expected to get a changed rear. The back door has been designed to look flatter with lesser number of creases. Though the there has been no official announcement from the company, but the facelift variant is expected to get minor updates in the tail lamp that may get new design inserts.

Under the hood

It has been reported that the new Scorpio will retain the existing 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. In the same unit, Mahindra may revise the power out of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio facelift. The facelift Scorpio is expected to get 140 Bhp tuning in place of the maximum power output is 120 Bhp which is currently being offered.

The engine is expected to get more power coupled with more torque. The Mahindra Scorpio facelift will get the same manual, as well as the automatic gearbox.
