Largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its new SUV over the Brezza. As per the report, Maruti Suzuki has plans to expand its existing Vitara range. It has also been mentioned that Maruti Suzuki will be expanding the product line-up by introducing a bigger SUV which is believed to be designed especially for the Indian market.
Launch date of the new SUV by Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza is one of the most successful sub-compact SUVs in the country. Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been one of Maruti’s top-selling cars since its launch. Riding high on the success of Maruti’s debut subcompact SUV, Maruti Suzuki is now eyeing the premium SUV segment in the country. As of now, Maruti Suzuki does not have a product in bigger SUV segment. No official date has been declared by the company but as per the report, the company has plans to soon introduce a bigger SUV from the stable in the segment.
Competition for Maruti’s new SUV over Brezza
Currently, the largest car manufacturer in India Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has only one SUV in its product line up – Vitara Brezza, but the Brezza falls under the sub-compact segment in the country. This is one of the reasons which is being cited behind the car maker’s move to venture into the compact as well as mid-sized SUV segment.
At present, there are various models from different car makers in the compact as well as the mid-size SUV segment which includes the Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport, the recently launched Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, upcoming fifth-generation Honda CR-V and Mahindra XUV500.
Maruti’s international partner Suzuki already has some models in the international portfolio that may be introduced in India to compete against the models in both the segments.
The SUV that may be launched in India
Reports are that Maruti Suzuki may launch the all-new Grand Vitara, or the facelift variant of the Grand Vitara or it may launch the next-gen Grand Vitara in India to rival the mid-sized SUVs in the country. Though the company has not revealed the name of the four-wheeler that will be launched in the Indian market it will soon unveil the SUV to capture a major share of the SUV segment in India that is picking pace in the country.
