Launched two years ago in India, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross made its way to the Indian market through the launch of the Nexa chain of dealerships in the country. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross finally got a facelift. The S-Cross facelift has finally got a new lease on life.  The S-Cross facelift gets an overhauled interior as well as the exterior! Read on to know more…

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets a facelift

One of the feedbacks that Maruti always received about the S-Cross was that it just did not look butch or macho enough to go up against the competition in the crossover segment. And so, to give the car a new lease on life, Maruti has decided to give the S-Cross a facelift both on the outside and on the inside!

According to reports, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift has got a set of slightly different headlamps. The bumper of the updated Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is slightly changed with the updated grille. The design of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift is more upright. The design does make the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift look a lot different than the earlier model.

Here’s what has changed in the Maruti Suzuki S Cross facelift

One of the biggest changes in the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift is the new grille. A 10-slat chrome grille with a thick chrome surround adds to the upfront appearance of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift. Unlike other cars in the segment, the chrome usage on the S-Cross does look apt and well in place.

Interior of the Maruti Suzuki S Cross

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift gets a set of updated headlamps merged with new tech – LED projector lamps. The LED DRLs (daytime running lights) that have been added to the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift are a lot brighter. Bumper of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift carries the SUV design language and gets the matte silver accents for a fresh approach.

The side profile of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift is almost same but the all-new set of 16-inch diamond cut two tone alloy wheels are fresh and gives the car a new approach. The rear of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift too is pretty much identical to the earlier S-Cross but the new set of LED tail lamps adds freshness.

Interior of the Maruti Suzuki S Cross

Interior of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift has been changed for the better. The new S-Cross’s cabin is much nicer than the earlier S-Cross and gets soft touch dashboard and leather seats. The all-black interior of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift is complimented well with a hint of brushed aluminium and chrome. Besides the brushed tone, the central console also gets  gloss black design element.

The touchscreen infotainment system has been retained in the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift. The infotainment system in the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift comes equipped with inbuilt navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. The infotainment system also supports Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift also gets advanced features such as rain sensing auto wipers automatic climate control as well as cruise control for better driving pleasure. The keyless entry, start stop button and rear parking sensors coupled with a reversing camera remains same in the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift. These safety features are very beneficial, particulalrly when maneuvering the big Suzuki around urban cities.

The Verdict

New S-Cross is pretty simple but is more mature in appearance. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift looks considerably better than the pictures that are being circulated. The interior quality is impressive and the cabin looks more expensive.

The only point where the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift lacks is the engine. Though the facelift S-Cross gets the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 engine as standard, but the 1.6-litre engine that has been discontinued could have added more power to the crossover.
