CSD Canteen (Military Canteen for Defence Personal) to Now Go Online

The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) is likely to come up with its online stores to cater a large number of defence personnel who buy Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) goods from here at the subsidised rates. As per the sources, CSD, which currently runs a total of 34 depots and 4500 outlets all across India is planning on to expand its footprints via online depots. This CSD defence canteen is likely to undergo the online makeover before Diwali in October.

Other than this, CSD administration board is also contemplating on expanding its outlets in states including Danapar (Bihar), Himachal Pradesh and Bhubaneswar (Orissa).

Why is the CSD Canteen (Defence) going online

The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) is one of India’s largest networks of retail that supplies FMCG goods to the defence personnel belonging to the Indian Army, Indian Navy or Indian Air Force. Now the CSD Canteen (Defence) is thinking to expand its depot by starting an integrated online service system for its customers to experience a hassle free purchasing of FMCG goods. This online system will help in reducing the time and energy of the customers while allowing them to buy all newly launched products without any delay. Not only purchasing but the payment system will also become an easy thing to do if CSD canteen (Defence) goes online soon.

Apart from this, the another advantage of CSD canteen (Defence) going online will be that the customers can pick items on the very same day of the arrival of fresh stock in the canteen. The administration board of CSD is planning to carry out these changes in the operation of the defence canteen by Diwali this year and the board in charge will have a meeting six times per year to get the approvals for the order of the canteen items for the same.
