No Need to Visit Telecom stores for Mobile Re-verification | Now Link your Mobile Number with Aadhar using IVR

Now it is easier to link your Aadhar to your mobile number for the SIM card re-verification process. Now the users need to only dial a number and follow the instructions in order to link the Aadhar with their mobile number. This will provide some relief to the users that only have the option to visit the company stores for the re-verification of their mobile numbers. But the mobile users have the option to link their mobile numbers with their Aadhaar

Steps to link your Aadhar with mobile number using IVR

The first step to link your mobile number with Aadhar is to dial the number 14546. You need to carefully listen and follow the instructions. You will be asked whether you are an Indian or NRI and press the relevant option. Then you will be asked for your consent to link your Aadhaar with your mobile number. Users who are willing for the Aadhaar based re-verification can proceed further by pressing 1. After that, you will be asked to enter your Aadhar number and press 1 to confirm.

After this step, a one-time password (OTP) will be generated and received on your mobile number. Now you need to enter your mobile number. The IVR reads out the last four digits of your number to confirm that you have entered the correct number. If your mobile number is correctly entered, then you can enter the OTP received on your phone. At the last, you need to press 1 again to complete the Aadhar based re-verification process.

Airtel, Vodafone & Idea started the IVR process

People who are using corporate plans do not need to undergo the Aadhar based re-verification process. Till now, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have activated the re-verification through IVR. The Jio customers do not need to undergo the re-verification process as Jio takes Aadhar number while you purchase the new connection. Aircel has still not started the IVR for re-verification, it might start the same within a few days.

Also, Digital India has said in a tweet that users will be able to use the mAadhaar app to link their Aadhaar with mobile numbers for re-verification. However, the mAadhaar app is available for Android users only.
