Got a Traffic Challan? Now You Can Pay it Online Through PayTM

The Digital India Campaign is gradually picking its pace with most of the private as well as government departments introducing digital platforms for making payments through the digital payment method.

Strengthening government’s initiative to make payments cashless and to eradicate the hassle of standing in long queues for paying the challan, Paytm has added another service on its platform easing every day payment hassles. This platform now offers paying your challans online.

Where all is the service available?

Initially, Paytm has initiated the services in Mumbai, Pune and Vijayawada and it plans to soon expand this service to other cities as well.

Can you pay through your smartphone?

No, at the moment the option to make payments of your challan through the app on your smartphone is not available in the afore-mentioned cities. though the payment mode is live on the website as of now.

How to proceed?

The moment a Challan is generated by the machine against your vehicle’s registration number, all the details of the vehicle number would appear in the challan/ vehicle number column on the website. Once you fill in the details you will be able to see further option to make a payment.

How can you make the payment?

After filling in the details, once you reach the payment page you have the options of electronic money transfer for payment through Paytm. All you need to do is log into Paytm.com choose payment method of your choice i.e. Credit/ Debit Card, Net banking or Paytm Wallet.

What will change?

The traditional way of paying your challan will continue but this digital mode will definitely simplify the process making it more convenient and easy for the drivers getting challaned. There would be no need of standing in long queues to make payments and once you make the payment through this channel your documents will be dispatched to the registered address.

What are the additional benefits?

Once the transaction is completed, user will receive an instant auto update on the registered email id and mobile number. This online challan payment mode is available 24X7 so there is no need to worry about standing in queues for your turn. No need to carry cash. In addition to these advantages, the user can avail various deals, discounts and Cashback offers every time he pays the penalty through this mode.

Steps to pay your challan

  1. Go to Paytm.com
  2. Click on more and select Challan
  3. Select city
  4. Add vehicle number and proceed to pay
