Punjab’s Baba Farid University to Issue Digital Degrees & Certificates to Students

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Punjab will now issue digital degrees and certificates to the students. The university has created a special cell for giving digital degrees and certificates to the students. The Punjab- based BFUHS has taken this initiative to lessen the usage of the paper in the issuance of university certificates and degrees.

In a bid to go digital on the lines of PM Narendra Modi initiative of digital India, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) in Punjab has decided to keep all the digital records of the certificates and degrees and issue the same digital copies to the students. The digitisation of all the degrees and certificates of the Punjab based Baba Farid University will be maintained under the National Academic Depository (NAD).

NAD is the government of India wing for preserving all kinds of documents of the educational institute digitally. It works as a bank where every student of the University can access their account for all their documents, degrees and certificates.

In Punjab, this will be the first time when Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) will commence such a digital facility for the convenience of their students. Via the digital facility, any student, sitting at any part of the world can access their accounts via NAD and can take the print out their degrees, certificates and any other university related documents. Even the Punjab’s BFUHS is planning to issue mark sheets to the students digitally. The digitisation will provide full transparency in the university’s work as well to curb down the menace of fake degrees and certificates allotment.

There are many prestigious colleges and universities based in Punjab that offer various under graduate, postgraduate course and Ph.D. courses and an initiative of digitisation like this surely help the Indian education system to grow better and better with the time.
