The patriotic movie Raag Desh released today across India and the audiences seem to love it as per the reviews. Raag Desh is Tigmanshu Dhulia’s most celebrated period drama, which is an adaptation of a real life event. It is a non- commercial movie produced by Rajya Sabha TV. The movie is aptly set in the era of 1945 and infuses patriotism with every single dialogue of each character played by the actors.

The movie is based on the fascinating true story of the Red Fort Trials of three soldiers from INA named Gurubaksh Singh Dhillon, Prem Sahgal and Shah Nawaaz Khan. These three were accused of waging the war against King in that era and were charged with the allegation of murder. The movie is written and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia who has previously given some of the critically acclaimed movies like Haasil, Gangs of Wasseypur, Saheb Biwi aur Gangster, Bullet Raja and others. Also, the Rang De Basanti actor Kunal Kapoor has made a comeback into the main stream cinema with the movie Raag Desh and has played a patriotic hero of yesteryears.

Cast and review of movie Raag Desh 

The movie review of Raag Desh which has released today across India is a period drama based on the Indian National Army (INA) of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Indian warrior who waged the war of independence in Burma. The plot of the movie Raag Desh also portrays the era of 1954 when the INA soldiers who were also known as INA Renegades while British called them the Japanese stooges, were put forth for trial in the court than at the Red Fort, Delhi. These soldiers were charged with murder and sedition charges. The film, Raag Desh cast includes Mohit Marwah, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vijay Verma, Hikaru Ito, Mrudula Murali, Jatin Singh Kindra and more.

The movie Raag Desh seems to be a promising one as its opening at the box office has attracted good strength of the audiences in theatres. A unique thing about this movie is that it was specially screened for the 13th President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhawan before he demitted his office.
