Bollywood actor, Ranveer Singh will soon receive the Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award for his outstanding performance as Allauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, this year. Ranveer Singh who has left everyone awestruck with his magnificient acting has been the major reason behind the Padmaavat’s over 300 crore business at the box office till date.
Ranveer Singh to be conferred with Dada Saheb Falke Excellence Award
Soon after the release of his film Padmaavat the actor Ranveer Singh received an overwhelming response from his fans. Now its time for all his year-long of hardships, body transformations and the passion to outshine in the character of a barbaric conquerer to get paid off as he is being announced to conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award.
This was the first time when Ranveer Singh had played a negative character in his entire Bollywood career and has nailed it, winning accolades and unanimous praise from the critics and the audiences. The character of Alauddin Khilji played by Ranveer Singh in Padmavat is considered to be a path-breaking one and is compared with iconic villains of Bollywood including ‘Gabbar’ of Sholay played by Amjad Khan, ‘Mogambo’ of Mr. India played by Amrish Puri, ‘Shakal’ of Shaan played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda, ‘Lion’ of Kaalicharan play by Ajeet or ‘Kanchachina’ of Agneepath played by Sanjay Dutt.
Allauddin Khilji’s character in Padmaavat praised by critics too
In a felicitation letter written to Ranveer Singh by the Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award Committee it is stated that they are happy to announce his name for the 2018 award for playing a memorable role in the Hindi cinema industry.
Bollywood’s powerhouse actor Ranveer Singh has been finalized for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award as Best Actor this year for his movie ‘Padmaavat’. This will be the third Best Actor award that Ranveer Singh has already bagged for his the brilliant performance in ‘Padmaavat’. Other than him, actress, Anushka Sharma will also be awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for innovative work as a producer in Bollywood industry. Anushka had made her debut as a producer with the movie Phillauri followed by Pari that got released earlier this year.
However, Ranveer Singh is currently busy shooting for his upcoming Bollywood film Gullyboy which is a Meghna Gulzar’s directorial while Rohit Shetty’s Simba is a project that he has in the pipeline.
