How Does Micromax Bharat 1 Stack Up Against Reliance JioPhone | All The Details

JIO launched the JIO Phone and created a storm in the ‘smart feature phone’ and suddenly all the manufacturers want in. Micromax has launched the Micromax Bharat 1 smart feature phone in a partnership with BSNL and hopes to make a dent in the sales of the JIO phone. If you are looking for a phone with unlimited calling and data along with a few smart features in an affordable phone then we will help you decide which one to buy – the Micromax Bharat 1 or the JIO Phone.

Micromax Bharat 1 has dual SIM slots:

The JIO phone comes with a single Nano SIM card slot which can be used only to use a JIO SIM. The phone will refuse to identify a SIM card by any other Telecom while the BSNL Micromax Bharat 1 can be used with a 4G SIM of any company. There is also a bonus of having two SIM card slots with only the first slot available for 4G voLTE services.

JIO Phone has NFC:

The famous JIO Phone might not be the smarter of the two but it is ready for future more than the Micromax Bharat 1. The JIO phone comes with NFC which can be used to make payments with your phone once the feature is adopted by various merchants in India.

Micromax Bharat 1 supports Whatsapp:

The Micromax feature phone runs on a stripped down version of Android and this means the famous apps like Whatsapp, Facebook and YouTube will be available out of the box on your BSNL Micromax Bharat 1. However, the JIo Phone runs on KAIS OS which is a scaled down version of Firefox OS and might not run these apps. There have been reports that JIO is trying its best to bring Whatsapp to the JIO phone but nothing is concrete as of now.

JIO Phone gets Google Assistant even though Micromax Bharat 1 runs on Android:

The Micromax Bharat 1 might be running Android OS but it does not get the company’s famous Google Assistant. The JIO phone, however, will be the first feature phone to support this in this segment which means you can ask your JIO phone to get you Google results in Hindi and English.

JIO Phone is Cheaper up front:

The JIO Phone comes at a asking price of 1,500 Rupees in India while the Micromax Bharat 1 retails for around 2,200 Rupees. The JIO Phone’s 1,500 Rupees can be reclaimed once you return the phone after 3 years after recharging it for a minimum of 153 Rupees every month. Micromax Bharat 1 comes with no such offer and you have to pay 2,200 Rupees up front.

Micromax Bharat 1 with BSNL is cheaper in Long Run:

Micromax Bharat 1 was launched in partnership with BSNL and it has a special recharge of 97 Rupees with unlimited calling and data per month. The cost of 97 rupees recharges every month for three years is 3,492 which added to the price of the phone totals to 5,692. On the other hand, JIO Phone’s cost for the period of three years is 5,508 (153x12x3). To get the 1,500 cashback at the end of three years you have to return the device whereas the Micromax Bharat 1 makes better sense for a feeble sum of 184 Rupees over the JIO Phone.
