Reliance is soon launching its Jio Home TV to give a tough fight to the existing DTH service brands across India. The news has brought delight to everyone’s heart as many of them are considering it to be another revolutionary service product Reliance as its Jio telecommunication and internet services.
Reliance Jio Home TV testing technology and its transmission
As reported by other media houses, the final date for the launch of Jio Home TV has not been announced by Reliance officially but this giant player in the telecom industry is done with the beta testing of the services that will be soon provided pan India.
The upcoming DTH services by Reliance was tested via the Jio Broadcast app available on the Google Play store but further, it is planned to be operational through the company’s rebranded edition called Jio Home TV. The beta testing for Jio Home TV was carried out on eMBMS, which is a hybrid technology that enables to supply services of a TV channel and radio in a perfect combination. The eMBMS also empowers viewers to watch television offline with no internet.
The price and channels to be shown on Jio TV
The company is set to come up with two of its services namely, Jio Home TV that will provide Standard Definition (SD) channels and the other one will feature both SD and High Definition (HD). Reliance has fixed the channel price for SD service of Jio Home TV at Rs 200 per month and Rs 400 per month for the SD + HD (High Definition) channels. For watching channels on Jio Home TV does not require any internet connection as it works on eMBMS technology.
Recently, a Massive MIMO pre-5G/ 4G technology has been deployed at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium by the Reliance Jio to enhance high- speed internet services during IPL matches and provide great consumers experience. Jio Home TV will foray soon as Indian one of the DTH service providers and will stand as a competition to other existing players including Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Videocon D2H, Dish TV and many more.
