RRB Recruitment 2018 For Technician & ALP – Important Dates, Stages of Exam & Syllabus Update

RRB Recruitment 2018: Indian Railways roll out more than 89000 jobs for Group C and Group D posts. The online application process for the RRB Group C and RRB Group D post started in the month of March and ends on March 31. For the post of ALP and Technicians in Railways, there are total 26,502 vacancies. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in the month of April/May. Here we are sharing details of Syllabus, exam pattern and other useful information about the RRB ALP and Technicians.

RRB Recruitment 2018 For Group C Posts – Stages of Exam

There will be two stages of Exam for the RRB ALP and Technician Recruitment 2018. The first stage and the second stage both will be Computer Based Test (CBT).

First Stage – The first stage of the RRB recruitment exam 2018 will be CBT exam. In this, there will be objective multiple choice questions. In the first stage of the exam, there will be 75 questions and the time to complete the exam will be 60 minutes. The RRB ALP and Technician paper will have questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness on Current Affairs.

Exam Syllabus – The syllabus for the mathematics section includes fractions, LCM, HCF, proportion and ratio, time and work; time and distance, simple and compound interest, Number system, BODMAS, decimals, calendar and clock, Pipes and cistern, profit and loss, algebra, geometry, elementary statistics, square root, and age calculations.

In the General Intelligence and Reasoning section question from Analogies, alphabetical and number series, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences, directions, statement – arguments and assumptions etc., analytical reasoning, classification, coding and decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, jumbling, and Venn diagram will be asked.

In the General Science questions from the Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of class 10 will be asked. And in General Awareness questions from Science & Technology, current affairs, sports, culture, economics, and politics will be asked.

Second stage: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Part A – In this section questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering and Questions from General Awareness on Current Affairs will be asked. The exam syllabus will remain same. In the subject basic science and engineering, the syllabus is Engineering drawing, units, measurements, mass weight and density, work power and energy, occupational safety and health, environmental education, IT literacy, work power and energy, speed and velocity, heat and temperature, basic electricity, levers and simple machines.

Part B – In Part B of the exam questions from the relevant trade will be asked. There will be total 75 questions and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour. The qualifying marks for this part is 35%.

For candidates who have selected ALP, there will be a computer-based test. In this exam candidates will have to score a minimum of 42 marks in each test. The merit list for the RRB ALP exam will be made from the candidates who qualifies the aptitude test with 70% weightage of marks in Part A of the second stage and 30% in the computer-based AT.
