RRB Recruitment 2018 | 90,000 Positions and 2.3 Crore Applications – Things You Should Know

RRB recruitment 2018: Indian Railways has received approximately 2.3 crore application form for the RRB Recruitment for Group C and Group D posts. This number is 250 times more than that of the available vacancies in railways for Group C (ALP and Technician) and Group D posts. Earlier this year, Railway Recruitment Board announced 89409 vacancies and the application process for the same started in the month of February.

Last month Railway recruitment board released the Application Status for the Group D posts. Candidates who have applied for the Railways Group D posts can check it on the official website of the Railways. There are total 62907 vacancies in Indian Railways for the Group D posts. RRB Group C and RRB Group D Posts Recruitment 2018, Things You Should Know

For the Group C posts, there are 26502 vacancies. these vacancies are for the post of ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) and Technician. Against the 26502 vacancies, RRB has received about 47.56 lakh applications. For the RRB Group D posts, there are 62,907 vacancies and the Railway Recruitment Board has received about 1.90 crores of application form.

The online exam (CBT) of railways is the world’s largest computer-based exam. According to the statement of Railways, the board has saved about 310 crores of A4 size paper sheets (sheets used for pen and paper mode). With this, the board has saved about 4 lakh trees from cutting.

In a tweet, railways Minister Piyush Goel said that Indian Railways gas replaced the question booklet with the online test for the Railway recruitment drive and this change will save 7.5 crore paper sheets.

The computer-based exam gives the flexibility to candidates appearing in the exam to choose an easy language. Candidates can also revisit their answers and in case they found it incorrect, they can alsochange the answer. This is the biggest postive thing of a CBT exam.

In pen and paper mode exam, the answer once marked will not be changed. In the online application, form candidates need not to worry about the non-delivery of the application form and postal delays.
