Punjab | 4 Students Killed, 8 injured as School Bus collides Head-on with a Truck

A school bus in Punjab collided Head-On with a semi-trailer truck killing 3 young school children and driver on the spot in Singhpur Village, about 75 km away from Hoshiarpur in Punjab today. Injuring around 8 young kids besides killing 4 people, the bus accident occurred at around 8:30 am when the kids were on their way to school this morning. The sad incident has shaken school authorities and parents who are in an utter state of shock and disbelief.

Punjab School Bus Accident Near Hoshiarpur

Shuttling over 20 young school kids, the collision happened when a semi-trailer truck overladen with potato sacks appeared from the opposite direction of travel citing no clear information as to what had caused the mishap. The washed off markings from the bus read “Cambridge International School” giving information about the school to which these students belonged to. The location of the mishap is traced to be the Dasuya Town of the Singhpur village, Punjab.

Victims of the Mishap

The accident engulfed 4 lives leaving many other injured. Here’s the number of victims that were immediately rushed to the local civil hospital as per police officials who reached the spot in no time.

  • 3 students belonging to Talwara town killed
  • Bus driver hailing from Dehpur village also among deceased
  • 8 students severely injured
  • Helper and conductor in critical condition
  • Mangled charred remains of the bus

Tattered Bus Remains – A shocking Sight

The images obtained from the unfortunate spot are shocking simultaneously invites wrath and sympathy of public. Washing away the entire right side of the school bus leaving behind absolutely nothing but charred remains of metal pieces clearly shows the intensity of the mishap. Spilled potatoes from sacks from almost overturned and tilted truck-trailer gives us goosebumps for the visual evidence that the accident site provides. Completely cracked windows and front of the bus is nowhere to be seen is furthermore dreadful.

Mangled remains of the bus and rising cases of road accidents in our country is an appalling incident that needs immediate attention. Such intensities of accidents engulfing so many young lives and future population of the country is a cause of worry which the authorities must look into at priority. All we pray and hope is now the departed souls rest in peace and God provides strength to the grieving families to bear the grief of their loss.  Amen !!
